Normally I blog about cooking and crafting, but this month I just moved from a studio to a one bedroom! More space, right? Not so so much. I had a generous size storage locker in my old place and no storage locker here, so everything I own needs to go in this space.
When I do my spring cleaning, which isn’t always done at spring time, I love to catch up on Hoarders to motivate myself to get rid of stuff. I am more a pack rat than hoarder though I can see myself in them. Before I moved I had taken out tons of trash and made three big trips to donate to Goodwill. After the movers moved my items to the new place, it really looked like an episode of Hoarders!

So I will take you through my process, as someone who is not a professional (except good at accumulating things and not getting rid of things), in how I deal with my paring down and getting rid of excess.
I am thinking first I will just unpack everything, or will still look like a hoarders paradise. My plan is then to ask myself if I didn’t already own an item, would I purchase it. If not, then out it goes. Then I realized this is basically the Marie Kondo method. So be it! Wish me luck and stay tuned!
